Deepwater horizon

This illustration is dedicated to an incident occurred on April 20, 2010 in the Gulf of Mexico – an explosion occurred on the oil rig Deepwater Horizon, leased by BP from Transocean. Free oil leak from the well, where rig was digging before the disaster resulted in the largest environmental disaster: the well located at a depth of about 1.5 km was outflowing the water with up to 1,000 tonnes of oil daily. In early August 2010, it turned out that the oil leak was almost completely stopped.
